Friendship & Loyalty (video gift from Inhonoredglory and Toothlesslove)

Ok, so I'm gonna gush about this video below the read more. Be warned.

Ok, so this thing is only a minute long. Seriously. Just one minute. And WHAT A HIGH I WAS ON FOR THAT MINUTE!!! I honestly think, this may have gotten me over the watermark of the first minute of HTTYD2. It impacted me that much. Thanks so very, very much Inhonoredglory and Toothlesslove! I had no idea how much you had been tracking the many different (even somewhat obscure) fandoms I have grown to love. Ok, let me try and pick this apart. Gotta control mah feels enough to actually write like an intelligent human being...

First off, the music is the main theme of Fairy Tail. This was the first real anime I watched. Sure, I'd seen Pokemon, but this thing took itself seriously. I briefly mentioned enjoying it to Glory and her sis, and suddenly this pops up. The music is PERFECT for this. That main theme in Fairy Tail always, always plays at dramatic, heart wrenching, emotional highs. It's the theme of the guild, the theme of what brings the characters of the show together, the theme of that one thing that means more than anything to the wizards young and old of that dramatic tale. It's a gorgeous piece of music, and coming off of seeing Fairy Tail, it certainly feels emotionally powerful enough to carry this video through!

Next, I just have to note that I love these two for going out of their way to find GREAT stuff from all these fandoms. HTTYD, HTTYD2, Gravity Falls, Fire Emblem Fates, Skyward Sword, and Twilight Princess! I know that neither of them have actually seen/played fully through any of these non-HTTYD ones, but they nailed the tones of the stories, and they meshed them perfectly into this video.

Ok, I have GOT to hit on the drama of these voice overs!

"You have the heart of a chief, and the soul of a dragon." Ok, first off, that's one of my all time favorite HTTYD quotes. It's just such a perfect summation of Hiccup's journey through the second film. Add that to the fact that it is showing a kneeling Link, pledging himself to protect Zelda... whew... wow! So, Link also has quite the dragonish soul... but not just the sweet, compassionate, loving side. If Link pledges to protect you, bad-guys better beware. This young Hylian has a courage and ferocity second to none!

"Only you can bring our world's together." Did that seriously get put over Ryoma and Xander shaking hands????? WHAT EVEN! I mean, take the quote in it's whole context, and it could be basically said to Corrin, the one person who managed to bring two bitter, grievous nations, and bring them together in such a shocking, stark way. No one would've believed that bond of friendship between Xander and Ryoma was possible... but there was that one person who managed to bring those two world together in peace.

"Listen to me. If I've learned anything this summer, it's that you can't force someone to love you. The best you can do is strive to be someone worthy of loving." Oh MY WORD. That was placed over SO MUCH LINK AND MIDNA. How perfect... how freakishly perfect! Man, all that time in the game with Midna slowly growing from a sarcastic, manipulative character into a beautifully selfless person... and then she develops feelings for Link. Feelings that he won't reciprocate. He already has someone whom he loves, and she loves him back. So Midna doesn't try to force anything... and instead of being manipulative and dominating like she used to, she acts out of pure selflessness, sacrificing her future with Link, and protecting both her future and his. GOSH. She is worth loving... just saying. Link missed out on that one!

"But healing can only begin with trust." Man, right in the epic feels. Leo's quote to Takumi... the two most arrogant and cocky members of the opposing families, learning to trust and care for one another. It isn't easy, and they know it. And it wasn't easy for Hiccup! Trusting Toothless in that moment of Forbidden Friendship might just have been the riskiest thing Hiccup ever did... but that wasn't the last time Hiccup would have to trust that dragon. Toothless and Hiccup gave each other deep wounds in the second film, but they were able to heal... because deep down they trusted one another. *DIES*

"Now do you get it? This is what it is to earn a dragon's loyalty!" Ok, so this quote was basically just over it's own part in the movie... but considering it was one of the highest points of HTTYD2, I am so happy that it made it into this video! What a triumph! What a rush! So, yeah, take that Drago!

"I'm not gonna let anything happen to you." This might take the cake. This one might be the best crossover moment in the whole darn thing... and it's hard to compete with that GF/Midna moment! Seriously, hearing the convicted voice of Hiccup say that while looking at the happy faces of Corrin's family is beyond amazing. What really strikes me is the Glory and Toothlesslove haven't even played the game... they don't realize just how poetic this is. The clips that are shown are from Revelation... probably the most selfless path Corrin can take. And why does he take it? Because he sacrifices justice and attachment for the sake of LOVE. He will not let anything happen to his family. Join Hoshido? The Nohrians who raised you die. Join Nohr? Then the people who have spent their whole lives trying to bring you home lose their lives trying to protect home from you. This one cutscene at the end highlights the fact that Corrin's sacrifice saved EVERYONE. It's the apex of happy endings, and I love these characters. These words from Hiccup could come straight from Corrin's mouth. He's going to do anything, and he'll keep each and every one of these brilliant, flawed, beautiful people safe. They are his family, and he protects them. BWAAAAAAAA!

"You never cease to amaze me, Bud. Thank you." Well... I feel like Hiccup stole the words right out of my mouth. Glory and Toothlesslove, you really do never cease to amaze me. This gift blew my mind. It was beyond anything I could have expected or imagined. Thank you. Thank you...
